Romance is a wonderful, fascinating, complex stream of consciousness.

When you’re locked in its crosshairs, anything seems possible, and you’d sell your soul to make the highs last even just a few minutes longer.

Perhaps most alluring are the twists and turns it takes towards obvious places. Those edges of fear, vulnerability and forced reflection that only a mammoth reward will inspire us to.

Music, as a backdrop to romance, shares many of the same qualities. It’s not the marquee moments that make it memorable, but rather, how you get to them. You find a new vein to tap into. Echo a familiar refrain. Ride the unknown towards the inevitable. All the while slowly letting your guard down to find a new way in.

Or, put another way, you work at forging a creative pathway from Yellow (Coldplay) to Harvest Moon (Neil Young). Followed by a journey from She Will Be Loved (Maroon 5) to Fly Me to the Moon (Frank Sinatra). Not to mention a few original departures, including Get You Alone, along the way.
