Life in the music business goes from the sublime to the ridiculous, traversing just about every shade and hue in the process.

There have been some really nice private events over the past couple of weeks. There was blue-bird day with phenomenal natural acoustics at the Holland Marsh Winery (Newmarket, ON), followed by similarly expansive sounds, though partially uncooperative weather, at Kurtz Orchards (Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON). There was also a great event, and an even better experience, with Muskoka Steamships (Gravenhurst, ON).

All three were great days with great people.

Not that I’m some massive touring musician, but it would seem as if there’s a nice little mini-tour happening over the next few months. We’ll call it the ‘Choices Mini-Tour.’ It falls nicely in line with the small Fiat that provides the transportation. This year is seeing a dramatic increase in public performances, and I’m enjoying it thoroughly. I’m back at some usual haunts such as the Lantern (Stoney Lake, ON) and the Burleigh Falls Inn (Burleigh Falls, ON). There are also some new venues, including the Westin Harbour Castle (Toronto, ON) and a unique private theatre in Huntsville (Muskoka, ON).
