Floating in a dream.

As a wedding guitarist, I’m surrounded by romance a great deal.

My goal as a musician has always been to add a dream-like quality to these events. I’ve never been one for sappier tones. Definitely more of a Rain Song or Harvest Moon kind of feel.

Certain venues carry the same energy in my experience.

I’ve been playing at the Burleigh Falls Inn (Burleigh Falls, ON – Kawartha) for about a decade. There’s a charm about the place that’s undeniable. I find most people come here for Valentine’s Day to reflect, enjoy, and walk into a dream. And it always feels like that. There’s the long February drive into the heart of the Kawarthas. You wonder who on earth is going to be up here at this time of year, and without fail, there’s this packed little enclave of warmth.

I always like the performance here. The room sounds great, and you barely have to turn the amplifiers on. Just like romance, music can take it’s time. I’ve included an audiece video below from a show this summer at Windermere House (Windermere, ON – Muskoka). There’s a flow in it that will be very similar to Valentine’s Day.
