I absolutely love this shot. Partially because it reminds me of a great wedding performance at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto, and partially because it’s simply a great shot.

Interesting vantage points are hard to find, but even in the most challenging places, you can always seem to find them. It’s a lot like sound in many ways. Even in the hardest rooms, you can find a way to make something work.

It has been a long, wonderful summer. A tad hectic at times with a lot of last-minute bookings. June saw the addition of a public show at Irwin Inn (Stoney Lake, ON). July added private performances at St. James Gardens (Toronto, ON) and a private residence in Leaside (Toronto, ON). August added new events at Oliver & Bonacini’s Windermere House (Muskoka, Windermere, ON), Le Select Bistro (Toronto, ON) and Hart House at the University of Toronto (Toronto, ON). September has been rounded out with a live performance at Lumina Resort (Huntsville, ON).

New recordings – acoustic and electric.

Amongst all the bookings, there have been some other exciting things happening. Singer/songwriter Carly Eagles has been in and out of the studio throughout the summer. We’re getting some really intimate and expansive sounds on her new recording. I also finished the final mixes of a long-standing work-in-progress. The album, titled ‘Nothing Left to do but Sin’ was built out of a series of songwriting sessions in 2008 for Monster America. Featuring seven full-band, electric tracks, it will be going in for mastering sometime in the fall.

Things are also shaping up well for 2014. Weddings and private events are booked for Irwin Inn (Stoney Lake, ON), Archeo Restaurant (Distillery District, Toronto, ON), Thompson Landry Gallery (Toronto, ON), Sherwood Inn (Port Carling, ON), Berkeley Church (Toronto, ON) and Grandview Golf Club (Huntsville, ON).
